They will be supported by Brooks, Jonny Pula, Bambino and Triccs.

The event organized by Comedy Factory Botswana aims to bring back standup comic popularity back post the new normal. While recently, there has been a mushrooming of comedians who flock to social scene of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to build profiles, gain popularity and test out their vines, MOD who was one of the comedians who laid a foundation for standup in Botswana told Arts & Culture in an interview this week that stand up will always have its place.

“We embrace all the other forms of the art. Stand up has a different style which vines will never fill up or any other form of comedy for that matter. People were confined in their homes and we now see them wanting to come out and have a different atmosphere, so what's a better reason than going out for a good dose of laughter,” he highlighted.

Further commenting on their upcoming show, MOD indicated that depression is real so it is a good idea to come out for a laugh session. While few standup comics in Botswana build a good online presence, MOD added that social media is still more of a free content platform. He said they only use it for promotional purposes to redirect traffic, and put word out there. The event will start at 730PM.
