Entrepreneurs, Allan Boshwaen and Morekolodi Moemele have recognised this striving to fulfil the large gap that exists in the market by providing solutions to small, medium and large entities consuming or selling fuel. Established last year, Tsela Fleet Card is an integrated fuel management business offering fuel management, tank monitoring, stock and store management as well as debtors control and web-based reporting. Boshwaen shared with Business Monitor that they have identified the gap of fuel management in the industry as only a few companies offer the service locally.

He said the system is designed to manage fuel supply and usage affordably. “Fuel management system offers more perks than precise fuel monitoring and reporting. Our offers are more competitive as we have introduced a fuel prepaid service. We monitor fuel trends; our reports can be viewed, printed and exported to various formats and the reports are available on the computer or mobile device,” he said. Boshwaen added that they provide solutions that control the fuel pumps, the management reports, debtors, theft and fraud management, point of sale, stock management, end of shift reports, cash up reconciliation and wet stock management. Currently, Boshwaen said, their competitors include Tswana Fuel and Edtb Botswana, but they are confident that their offers give them an edge. “Tsela Fleet Card offers the most accurate fuel probes in the country.

We have a precise target market. Our customers are not only going to buy our products and services, as we also have plans to collaborate with them as we believe in inclusivity,” he said. Penetrating the market has not been smooth for a company that was started last year as Boshwaen said most times established companies and individuals can be reluctant or uninspired to work with 'the newbies', which in turn can give the existing companies an edge. The company has plans to penetrate the regional market once it has strengthened its local market presence.

He said they are currently in the process of integrating a fuel loyalty programme into their business model. “We are still in negotiations with some companies in the oil industry, and the transport and logistics [industries]. We intend to become the leading company in our space,” he said.
