This (Friday) morning, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) announced that the remaining round of games will be completed between next Friday and December 18 while season three of the competition is expected to start early next year.

“As you may recall, in March 2020, we suspended football activities and by that time we had already done the draw for teams that qualified for the quarterfinals. At that time we had already committed as the association that we will want to continue with the FA Cup and conclude it. It was the only cup in the plan that was not concluded at that time. However, we could not finish it because COVID-19 was not allowing [us] and every time we were to resume there were always disruptions. 'Teams will be allowed to use players that they have registered in the just-ended transfer window. We expect it to come to a close by December 18 so that we have time to prepare for season three of the FA Cup,” BFA chief executive officer, Goabaone Taylor told the media this morning.

Jwaneng Galaxy and Notwane will kick off the quarterfinals on Friday evening at Lobatse Sports Complex at 8pm. On Saturday, Calendar Stars and Masitaoka will lock horns at Obed Itani Chilume Stadium while Gaborone United take on Police XI at the Royal Aria Stadium. Both games will kick off at 3.30pm. Township Rollers and Mahalapye Railway Highlanders will conclude the quarterfinal stage at Royal Aria Stadium at 3.30pm. Orapa United remains the only team to lift the Orange FA Cup as they did so in the 2018-2019 football season.
