After close to 600 days of hibernation, the Premiership sides finally returned to the pitch for league matches and the Saturday action produced a total of five goals from five matches.

GU hosted new Premiership side, Sua Flamingoes on Saturday afternoon at Lobatse Sport Complex and registered a 1-0 win. Thatayaone Kgamanyane’s header was enough to hand the Money Machine three points on Day One of the Premiership action. The star-studded side handed new players, Thato Kebue, Mothusi Johnson, Lebogang Ditsele and Karabo Phiri a start in the lineup while Goitseone Legopelo also started a competitive match for Sua Flamingoes for the first time. Rollers on the other hand also collected maximum points against Extension Gunners on Saturday night. Left-winger, Lemponye Tshireletso scored a brace to give new coach, Hassan Oktay his first victory.

The Turkish gaffer followed in the footsteps of previous Rollers coaches who have preferred Kabelo Dambe as the number one goalkeeper. He also handed the likes of Simisane Mathumo, Mosha Gaolaolwe and Segolame Boy a starting berth while Kutlwelo Mpolokang, Vuyo Mankanku, Mohammed Dialo and Lobopo Moremi made their official debut in Rollers colours.

Earlier on at the National Stadium, Mogoditshane Fighters edged Masitaoka by a solitary goal. The two sides were continuing their rivalry from their Debswana First Division time last season in which Masitaoka beat Fighters to the title. However, Fighters went on to secure their Premiership berth in the promotional play-off against Nico United. Morupule Wanderers also registered a 1-0 victory against Mahalapye Railways Highlanders to hand coach, Daniel Nare a good start in the season. Otse Police College action registered no goals as Police XI and Security Systems played to a stalemate.
