Radipotsane hails Ramoreboli impact

Galaxy defied the odds by defeating Simba SC 3-1 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Tanzania to qualify for the group stages. Galaxy were trailing 2-0 ahead of the second round with seemingly no way back into the tie for the Jwaneng outfit. Ramoreboli has widely been credited with helping the Jwaneng side for their progress to the group stages, a first in the club's six-year history.
Radipotsane said the former Bafana Bafana coach deserves praise for Galaxy’s good run in the competition. “The coach is very talented and believes in discipline. He is also a good person to work with because he is humble and listens to his colleagues. His good attitude and work ethic has rubbed off on the players. The technical team is very solid. The team has now become more organised and disciplined,” Radipotsane said yesterday. He also said the experience that the team has gained from playing in previous CAF competitions has come in handy for the club at this year’s competition.
The executive has also been very supportive of the club, according to Radipotsane. “Last year we played Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. We learned a lot from those matches. Our persistence in the competition is beginning to pay off,” he said. Playing before Simba’s vociferous fans at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium was not a very tough task according to Radipotsane. More than 15,000 supporters attended the clash between Simba and Galaxy. “After our first-round loss, we sat down and studied Simba intensively. We knew that we will be going into a very hostile environment, but the technology did its best to mentally prepare the players. Some of the players have played big finals before which is why they were able to cope with the hostile environment at Simba. All players have to be credited for the resilience they showed in Tanzania.” Radipotsane explained the rationale behind not giving Wendell Rudath much game time.
The Namibian has scored three goals in the four games he has played for Galaxy in the champions league. He contributed a brace in the surprise victory against Simba on Sunday, after being introduced in the second stanza of the match. He also scored against Diplomat FC in Gaborone after being introduced in the second half. “He is not yet match-fit. That is why he has been coming in as a sub. Fans will see more of him once he is fully fit. He is a good player that is why he is part of the Namibian national team,” Radipotsane told Mmegi Sport.
