Currently the posh suburb, is leading a number of investments and properties in the spaces of retail, commercial, residential and industrial.

Originally Phakalane Estates was a 13-phase development with 18,000 to 20,000 households. However due to changes in land tenure and economic changes, there has been a shift in approach to the organisation’s prospects. Currently, the property development is directed by land use, market demand, investment and return.

According to the Group CEO Subramaniam Parthiban, over the years Phakalane Estates has managed to be a pioneer of town planning and infrastructure development as well as property development.

"We broke ground on a dream to provide well-coordinated infrastructure development and town planning consultancy services to assist clients identify, prepare and deliver large-scale mixed-use schemes,” he said. “We also coordinate various planning and management requirements for both large and small-scale projects. “Thirty years later, we continue to build brighter futures and deliver the dream for and with Batswana.”

The Group started off employing five people in 1991 and today has about 160. Touching on the group's leisure and hospitality side, last year Phakalane Golf Estate Hotel & Convention Centre underwent significant refurbishment, particularly in the conference and dining spaces. The Group CEO further said their five-star 80 bedroomed hotel has seven catering units and two restaurants.

"We continue to welcome guests and patrons to our newly refurbished premises, all with requisite COVID-19 protocols, as we strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for dining, celebrations, weddings, business and more,” Parthiban said.
