Makhadzi's Showstopping Performance Blows Fans Away

The Limpopo singer was the headline act for The People’s Festival hosted by renowned promoter, Gilbert ‘PP wa Pimp’ Seagile. Makhadzi got up on stage just around 2am. At the time, local artists and DJs who had done a good job as curtain raisers for the main act had already warmed the stage. Her two-hour performance was a showstopper which left her fans asking for more.
The talented musician performed before a capacity crowd which also complimented her energy as they sang along to her every other hit she performed. Among some of the hits she performed include Kokovha, Tchukutsha, Red card, Energy, Gidimani, Murahu, Matorokisi, Hallelujah Amen, Sugar sugar as well as the hit song, Ghanama from her recent album. To spice things up, local artists Vee Mampeezy and Charmagal later on joined her on stage when she performed Beke le Beke and Themba Mutu, which she has collaborated on with them. The Limpopo born artist proved that she deserves the title Queen of Africa with yet another thrilling performance.
Her dancers alike gave their all to ensure that revellers were captivated. It was not just Makhadzi who had the revellers eating from her palm. Kwaito group, Eskimos also proved popular with the crowd. With their kasi singing and dancing, the group showed that they still have something to offer to the music industry. The group, which consists of Kg, Mandla, Javas and Zaine, performed its old songs, something that got the crowd cheering and singing along.
Having been away from the limelight for some time, it was refreshing to see that the once popular group still has it and performed at that level. They performed their hits such as Makimo, Mpulele and O mpimpile.
Other local artists who performed during the event include Figos, Skelem key, Shanky Briz, Modric, DJ KSB, Team Distant, La Timmy and Dj Lefatshe. New local entertainer, Theo Botshelo Bome, popularly known as He Nyeenaah, who was the MC on the night also gave a good account of himself. He appeared on stage out of a refrigerator, much to the delight of the revellers. He showed that he is one of the most trending entertainers locally, using his sense of humour to tell stories that make people laugh.
The weekend festival event was the first big music event after an 18 months blackout due to COVID-19 restrictions. And it showed with the number of people who graced Molapo Piazza to welcome back and set a tone for the music festivities yet to come. The Molapo Piazza was packed to capacity on Friday.
