According to the pageant director and founder, Jennifer Setapenyane, the event will cover the main theme of women empowerment. “There are a lot of themes to talk about, like successful and starting women in business, coming together to create a sisterhood and empower one another and also for women who are trying to discover themselves.

The event is a launch for our new pageant being Mrs African World as we prepare for our first seasonal crowning event next year 2022,” she said. Mrs African World Pageant is a newly founded pageant by Setapenyane (Mrs Botswana 2019/2020 2nd Princess), Thato Monei (Mrs Botswana 2019/2021st Princess) and Ofentse Komanyane (director of Bride All Boutique).

"The pageant is for married women and its aim is to groom a generation of strong leaders, redefining the image of African women as intelligent, ambitious, bold and very savvy. We want an African woman to be a change agent for her community and the world at large," said Setapenyane. She added that the pageant’s aim is to promote women empowerment, skills development and celebrating marriages in Botswana and Africa.

“Our goal is to bring wealth of hope and life to the community of marriages in Botswana and sustainable change to our communities. We create a platform to empower, mentor and support women in the country by allowing them to be bold, daring and be their own crowns,” she highlighted.

Setapenyane also indicated that their contestants will be part of a mentorship and empowerment programme during their six -months journey to the crown. She said the contestants will create awareness on different aspects of women empowerment, skills development and marriage and make a difference in the lives of other women and their societies. Setapenyane concluded that the winner will be sent internationally to represent Botswana at Mrs World in the US.
