FNBB Donates To Junior National Teams

Mpatane told this publication after the unveiling of the new hospitality kit for junior national teams which was held on Friday at the Francistown FNBB branch building.
In an interview with Sport Monito, Mpatane said FNBB has sponsored junior national teams to the tune of P3 million for a period of three years. He said for this particular project of unveiling of hospitality kits and logistics, the financial institution contributed P300, 000.
Mpatane also disclosed that so far,the FNBB sponsorship has used up to P1.5million with another outstanding balance of P1.5 million.
During the official handing over of the 2021-2022 hospitality kits, FNBB Francistown branch manager Lucky Bogopa said their financial institution is committed to sponsoring the junior national teams. He said the sponsorship is intended to cover administration costs for the junior national teams, pay wages for team coaches, camping costs, paying player’s allowances in line with FIFA obligations, transport and logistics and all other expenses for the teams. He also stated that the sponsorship which is in its second year continues to propel, facilitate and motivate the junior teams as they have seen the under 20 girls team do excitedly well in 2019 and early 2020.
According to FNBB local branch manager, as part of their sponsorship commitment, the bank provides all the national junior teams with hospitality kits in the form of branded tracksuits. He said: “In 2019 we launched and handed over the first kit and today (Friday) we will be unveiling the new kit for 2021.
We bought the tracksuits not only for the players but for the coaches, officials and all other supporting staff.” He said supporting talents at grassroots level will afford the athletes opportunities to reach their full potential to utilize their skills and propel them to international stages. For her part, BFA CEO Goabaone Taylor said they take their responsibility to develop their players, administrators, referees and coaches seriously She indicated: “FNBB continues to go beyond by not necessary looking at the amount that they have committed but also making sure that all the needs of their players are met.” She said that their partnership with the financial institution is critical one as they not only partake not only in football but also in their key stakeholders being BOTESSA.
Taylor elaborated that: “In the recent past we were able to do a junior referee course for BOTESSA in conjunction with FNB and that to us signifies an important relationship that says we are all together in the development of football in the country.” She further said they were able to develop their coaches to make use that they are able to impact a skill and the techniques that they players need. She said that with the support of FNB they were able to do a lot more camps, talent identification and scouting.
BFA CEO shared that there is a lot more that they want to do in football that covers as well the infrastructure development in order to make sure that where their players get training they are able to have well developed facilities.
