A memorable night at the YAMAS

The YAMAs were held on Saturday and broadcast live on NOW TV, and also on Yarona FM and NOW Facebook pages. People's Choice Artist of the Year was the most coveted award of the night with the winner walking away with P60,000.
Han C, who also won the best male single award for his song titled Padi padi, continued his dominance at the YAMAs yet again. The perennial winner and Rejection hitmaker managed to retain his award again this year and it was not an easy feat as he was nominated alongside William Last KRM and ATI among others.
Speaking of William Last KRM popularly known as Motsetserepa, the comedian-cum-musician was the most nominated artist at the awards with five nominations but walked home empty handed. Despite not winning on the night, Motsetserepa delivered an outstanding performance on stage. Ozi F Teddy, who not so long ago wrote a song criticizing the government, managed to scoop the best Hip hop award for the song Negotiate, featuring Murda.
Another notable mention was late female rapper Sasa Klaas who won the Hall of Fame award posthumously. The Mmamongwato hitmaker, featured in a song called Savanna, also won the Best Amapiano.
Legendary kwaito group Eskimos who have been together for more than two decades managed to scoop the best kwaito song award for their Kwalata tsa katara hit. The Best Female single award for the song BMW was won by Girly while the Best RnB was won by Jordan Moozy ft Yaw Bannerman. The Best Social Media award was won by Mjamaica while Lloyd BW ft Priscilla scooped the Best Dance award. MB onthebeat was awarded Producer of the year while LaTonde & Names feauturing Rati took People’s choice song of the year.
Best Collabo is FlyBoi Que ft Jordan Moozy & Luther October. Former Yarona FM presenter Boipelo Seleke won the icon award while former member of Ice Cold Mob Sal Angel won his first ever award as a solo artist by scooping the Best Pop award for the song Call me back. The YAMAs were sponsored by FNBB and Mascom.
