During the recent BONA Annual General Meeting (AGM), the position for the treasurer was staggered this year and it was due for election in 2023. The resignation comes at a time when the association is dealing with a matter of Thulaganyo Retshabile who is challenging the outcome of the elections.

The matter emanated from the status of TAFIC sporting club at the Registrar of Societies (ROS).

Letshwenyo-Ramocha told Sport Monitor yesterday that she decided to resign from office in order to protect her license. “For the two years I presented the audited financials, the auditors could not express their opinions due to missing documents. The last financials I presented there were still missing documents and it is because of failure to account by some members of the committee.

The situation is not improving hence my resignation,” she said. The missing of documents started in 2018 during the Spar League, expenses for the Africa qualifiers, senior team training camp, BONA diamond challenge, seventh Africa netball championships and AUSC Region 5 Games camp. There were also other expenses that were unaccounted for, being the Top 8 tournament in May 2018, the senior team trip to South Africa, transport to the PENT series in Namibia and senior team kit and attire for officials.

There are also funds for reconciliation of property, plant and equipment for 2019. BONA spokesperson, Mokeresete Mokeresete said he was not in position to comment on the issues, adding that he is waiting for an official statement.
