Kwaito’s Letso drops Ntombi

Tribal Tido and Rio Dee produced Ntombi. In an interview with Arts & Culture, Omtaka said the song talks about marriage.

"It is a feel good music for our roots as Africans. I just want to thank every one who have shown support from all the things that I have done be it musically and the community work that I have done. Letso is a songwriter, performer, Mc and actor. He was born and raised in Gaborone's White City. He said he began his music career back in 1995 when him and his friends formed groups called Da Vet Crew that was very popular back in the days.

He explained that he got inspired by kwaito music and knew that it was the type of music he wanted to do for the rest of his life since day one. This talented artist has two albums and five singles. His first solo album was recorded at Living Wire studio in Ramotswa produced by Gavin Bantom and Chanty Killer. It was called Letso Omtaka.

He stated that his second one was also done at the same studio. “I write my songs. So far I can say the public has accepted my music. I use all the digital platforms to market my music even the old way of doing by getting into events. I also do print media and radio interviews," he said.

Moreover, Letso said he had too many challenges. He said like any other businesses there was a seasonal period where one do not have shows but had to stay focused. As for achievements he won awards with Da Vet Crew. He said his achievement was to see as many musicians working together for a better world then he would be fine.

"In my career I have worked with the heavy weights of the industry in Botswana and South Africa. For example, the likes of Skizo, Joe Morris, and SoloB in Otswana while in South Africa I have worked with Mojalefa Thebe and I have a project that is under way for some Lady called Luna. I just wrote a song for her. I have worked with Thapele Khomo of the Stimela band. I have a management team also in South Africa under Sechaba Ramalepa and Jabu Sbumbe," he further revealed.

Letso said the local market is coming up right adding that he had an event called Kwaito Sunday where he gave upcoming artists and DJs the platform to perform and market themselves. He said he would be taking the show out to South Africa soon.
