Kio started playing drums at the age of 15 while his father was on the bass guitar. He played with his father’s band 2XM Band which mostly played covers. In his music career as a drummer, he was also inspired by the likes of the late Ofentse “Joe Bole” Moagi, Monty “Bra Monty” Phelefu and Peter Bollen.

“As time went by I decided to shift from being just a drummer to a recording artist hence I was featured in some songs before I actually decided to release my own solo tracks. So far I released two singles namely, 'Gimme de Mic' and 'Baby Girl' that I recorded back in 2018 at Rhyme Records and produced by a young talented Motswana called WouzieBevtz. On May 27, 2021 I released my first EP titled, 'Good Vibes Only' and it has two tracks ‘Gless’ and ‘Takusheka’ featuring Rumess and Yamzo recorded at Serutha Records,” he said.

Furthermore, he explained that 'Gless' had that old kwaito vibe to it. He pointed out that 'Takusheka' was the main song on the EP adding that people were really enjoying it. He said the song was made to give credit to a traffic officer who was posted in Ramotswa Police called Thakusheka.

Kio describes himself as a versatile artist who makes his music different from other artistes. “This year is about awareness and growth as we are working on the official music video for the song ‘Takusheka’ with Yaru Picture.
