Rollers Reveal P3million Sponsorship

Popa on Saturday celebrated its 60th birthday, and in the event held at club office in Gaborone, president Jagdish Shah said the total sponsorship for the upcoming season stands at P3million. Shah also said Stanbic Bank Botswana remains the club's primary sponsor with Umbro South Africa staying on as the technical sponsor, stretching on a partnership established in 2013.

He further announced the acquisition of electronic devices retail chain store, Cell City. "We have received sponsorship of P3million ahead of the start of the new season. Stanbic Bank is our main sponsor, they have been with us since for some time now.

There is also O3 Beverages who are supplying water during training sessions and for match days. G4S will be helping us with security, they have providing security for all our facilities and the 40 to 60 bouncers and security officers you see at stadiums and on match days. Umbro is still with us, they have been with us since I got into the club in 2013.

We have also Jack's Gym and we have been joined by Cell City, all these companies have their names on our new kit," Shah said. Additionally, he announced that Popa is the third best selling in Umbro replicas in Southern Africa. Shah also said the club has managed to boost its social media presence with over 300,000 followers of which, 15 percent are from countries such Zimbabwe, Zambia and South Africa.

Meanwhile, Rollers announced a 2022/2023 season kit design competition. The club is seeking designers to design home, away and alternative strips for the 2022/2023, where the winner will walk away with P10,000.“We are having a competition on the kit design which will start now as I speak and closes at the end of October 2021. The idea is for aspiring designers who have Township Rollers membership to submit their designs by deadline date for the home, way and alternative kit for next season.

The winning designs will get P10, 000.00 and the designer will have their name printed on the kit for next season. So every replica sold will have the name of the designer at the bottom. This is only open to card carrying members, so if you are a designer and you are interested, get yourself a Rollers membership and stand a chance in the competition," Rollers chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi said.
