Amos falls short

He stopped the clock at 1:46.41, way below expectations. It was not an easy road to the final after the Sunday fall in the semi-final. The 2012 Olympic Games silver medallist was the favourite to clinch a medal considering that he was the fastest man going into the race after he clocked 1:41.73 in Monaco last month. However, the going got tough for him as he tried to accelerate in the last 200m trying to pass Patryk Dobek of Poland. The home stretch was worst for Amos as all his compatriots zoomed past him.
Kenya's Emmanuel Korir won the final clocking 1:45.06. His teammate Ferguson Rotick finished second to stop the clock at 1:45:23. Dobek took home the bronze medal with a time of 1:45.39.
