Botswana Netball Association (BONA) is facing a backlash after senior national team coach, Sithulile Mlotshwa is alleged to have slapped Boikanyo Selogetso during the Africa Cup held in Namibia in November.

The incident is said to have occurred in full view of some members of BONA executive committee members including president, Malebo Raditladi. BONA spokesperson, Mokeresete Mokeresete said they are aware of the allegations. “We are aware of the allegations as the national executive committee and the issue is being handled.

The disciplinary structures are in charge of the investigations. We are not taking the issue lightly,” he said. Mokeresete was not in a position to confirm if the coach slapped the player or not but said the concerned parties will be brought before the disciplinary committee to establish what transpired. He added that there was no time frame for the investigation to be concluded.
