Getting ready: Flamingoes supporters in jubilant mood

Premier League newcomers, Sua Flamingoes are expecting no disruptions to their preparations ahead of their debut in the elite league despite holding an elective annual general meeting (AGM) two days before the season commences.

The club supporters will converge at Botash Recreational Hall on October 28, 2021, to elect a new committee before they take on Gaborone United (GU) in the league opener at Lobatse Sports Complex two days later. However, the club’s spokesperson, Lazarus Mafa said they are not worried because all preparations for the season have already been done.

He said even though the committee might have new faces, the club is not most likely to make wholesome changes in the leadership. “As we speak, no one has officially raised their hand to say they will stand for which positions, but what I have noticed about this club is that there are always some old faces in the committee every time we hold elections. Our supporters understand the importance of continuity therefore even if they elect new members, they also make sure they keep some old faces for continuity,” he said.
