The Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture is considering building a second bigger stadium in the greater Gaborone.

The stadium, with a 40 000 seating capacity, is in the National Development Plan (NDP) 11 plan.  When answering a question from Kgosi Nametso Kopelo on whether he does not deem it necessary to build a second stadium with a bigger carrying capacity in Gaborone, the Minister Thapelo Olopeng said their challenge is unavailability of land. “It is indeed necessary to build a second stadium with a bigger carrying capacity in or around Gaborone.
