Rollers Dominate Premiership Awards Nominations

As expected, national champions, Township Rollers have been nominated several times for the upcoming BTC Premiership awards. The Botswana Premier League (BPL) on Friday released the nominees for different categories with Rollers appearing six times in total.

After their sterling performances, helping their side win a double this season, defender, Mosha Gaolaolwe and attacking midfielder-cum striker, Edwin Moalosi will battle each other for the most prestigious award, Player of the season. They have also been pitted against Jwaneng Galaxy’s enterprising midfielder, Gilbert Baruti. Baruti was instrumental for his side this past season although his side only managed to settle for the second position in the league. The trio will also battle it out for the Players’ player of the season award.

In the goalkeeper of the season, Rollers’ Keegaile Kgosipula will compete against Ezekiel Morake of Galaxy as well as Orapa United’s Kaelo Joseph. Kgosipula who has been playing second fiddle to the likes of Kabelo Dambe and Mwampule Masule for several seasons, finally got his breakthrough this season under new coach, Nikola Kavazovic.
