Prisons XI stunned Killer Giants with a solitary goal to retain their Debswana First Division South League status at a crucial play-off encounter at Lekidi football grounds on Saturday.

The match got off to a lively start with both teams exhibiting some urgency and aggression in the first half. The first ten minutes of the game were characterised by a number of injuries as both teams tussled hard for an early lead.

Thabang Kgamanyane and Bakang Masisi combined well and led the Ramotswa side’s attempts, but fortune was not upon them as they failed to convert a number of clear chances that could have seen them take an early lead.

Prisons XI goalkeeper, Andrew Rale saved his side on numerous occasions with Killer Giants on the attack mode.

Midway through the first half, Prisons XI began to take control of the game with Killer Giants now slowing down, but they wasted a couple of chances as well. Towards the end of the first half, there was confusion in Prisons XI defence and the situation almost gave Killer Giants a goal.

In the second half, Prisons XI became more dominant, searching for a lead. Billy Oagile then scored a breathtaking winning goal in the 81st minute with a low shot.

As reality of making a way for Notwane in the First Division became real, Killer Giants then intensified their search for an equaliser pressing Prisons XI into their own half. However, Andrew Rale saved Prisons with near goal attempts saves to deny Onalenna Kgosinyane.
