Premier League thrown into dilemma

In danger: Satmos are not safe either

The Botswana Premier League (BPL) last night further pushed between a rock and hard place as there was no immediate solution to the relegation quagmire after the National Appeals Board (NAB) upheld a decision to dock Sankoyo Bush Bucks three points.

Last night’s decision means Satmos jumps above Notwane on the log standings, but the  Selebi-Phikwe side is not safe due to the soft points awarded. “The argument is that Sankoyo should lose points where the defaulter, Morris Rudzivo was featured. This will see Sankoyo relegate,” said a source. The expectation after yesterday’s ruling was that Notwane and Satmos will meet in a relegation decider.

However, the league finds itself battling a difficult situation as they have to complete the season before next week Saturday, as per the constitution. The BPL holds its general assembly next week and reported efforts to postpone hit a brick wall as it would be a violation of the constitution. Letlapeng, whose appeal against Mochudi Centre Chiefs’ Pontsho Moloi was thrown out last night, is again at the centre of proceedings. The relegated club contested the use of Rudzvivo, but there are reports the protest might be withdrawn which would mean reprieve for Sankoyo.

Each of the 10 beautiful young women had supporters...
