Makwala grabs Botswana’s first gold at AAG

Botswana’s 400-metre runner, Isaac ‘Badman’ Makwala put behind the disappointment of failing to win a medal at the World Championships by claiming the 400m title at the ongoing All Africa Games (AAG) in Congo-Brazzaville.

In the absence of world champion, Wayne Van Niekerk, Makwala easily sailed through the race with minimum competition.

Standing in between Makwala and the medal was Kenyan, Boniface Mweresa and another local athlete, Onkabetse Nkobolo.
