Grassroots development is crucial for every sporting code, Botswana Netball Association (BONA) president, Malebo Raditladi has said. She was speaking at the association’s annual general meeting held under the theme, “Peace and Sport” on Saturday in Gaborone.

She disclosed that they planned to build a strong team while there was still time. “We are going around the country visiting different places; this is for us to build a relationship with members of the community and again to make them aware that netball still existed. With this, we are trying to build the team’s confidence and engage the spirit of motivation at the same time and recruit those talents at remote areas,” Raditladi said.

She said the national team is currently in camp preparing for the African Union Sports Council (AUSC) 2020 games to be held in Lesotho. She said the team’s performance has been plummeting and are currently working on reviving it.
