Jwaneng: The chairman of the Botswana Motor Sport (BMS), Simon Modisaeman has said they cancelled the last loop of the race due to shortage of fuel on Sunday.

He said the shortage was as a result of mis-communication between the marshals. He explained that one of the team leaders was given the navigations equipment, but failed to communicate and deliver to other drivers. He said the situation was explained to the drivers and the committee took a decision to give them free registration to next year’s event.

Meanwhile, Modisaeman said the race went well despite the few hiccups. He added that local drivers can only be successful if they have the determination to work hard.
