BDF XI move closer to Top 8 semis

On-form BDF XI have said they are happy with the 3-1 win over Gaborone United (GU) in the first leg of the Mascom Top 8 quarter-final on Monday night. Matebele have moved closer to eliminating the most successful team in the competition for the second season in a row at the same stage. BDF XI assistant coach, Keikotlhae Chamlek Botlhoko said the plan was to win the game either by one or two goals since it was an away match for them.

He said the intention now would be to win even by a solitary goal in the second leg and move to the next stage of the competition. “If you look at our recent games including the Gunners match, we play a pressing game in the first 20 minutes of the match and the last 15 minutes. We managed to execute that even against GU and got the result,” he said.

On loan speedy winger, Kobamelo Kebaikanye scored two goals and shot to the top of the goal scoring charts in this year’s edition. He opened the score sheet in the first half before Kabelo Seakanyeng equalised 10 minutes into the second half.
