BAA takes Commonwealth Games athletes to Mahalapye

The Botswana Athletics Association (BAA) holds its Ordinary General Meeting (OGM) in Mahalapye tomorrow when it will parade athletes who took part in the just-ended Commonwealth Games.

BAA spokesperson, Glody Dube said Mahalapye residents will have the opportunity to meet their heroes at the meeting. He said the BAA hopes the initiative will inspire young people to join athletics. The purpose of the OGM is to, among others, discuss the Africa Junior Athletics Championships, which will be held in Gaborone next May.

The executive committee will present audited financial results after the affiliates rejected the report during the Annual General Meeting early this year. During the AGM, it was felt that the report had omissions.
