Broadhurst police are investigating a case in which a 44-year-old woman was hit by a car while jogging yesterday morning near the Glen Valley BDF camp.

The deceased was jogging alongside her husband at around 6.30am near Wagga Gardens when the driver of a Toyota Runx lost control of his car and hit her killing her in the process.

Deputy divisional traffic officer for South-Central, senior superintendent Boiki Mojalemotho said the driver, who was under the influence of alcohol, is likely to be charged with causing death by drunk and driving. “The driver was tested and had alcohol level more than the required limit when driving. We suspect that he might have lost concentration and ended up losing control of the car until it crossed the oncoming lane and hit a pedestrian who was jogging by the roadside,” he said.
