Water scarcity dogs Mokubilo village

FRANCISTOWN: With so many villages in Botswana suffering from lack of water, Mokubilo's plight must take the cake. Despite efforts by village authorities that cry their voices hoarse on the situation, nobody in government seems to be bothered.

It is years now since Mokubilo residents have been complaining of water shortage that can last up to two weeks.  Also there is no promise of the situation getting better in the near future. As a result, on days when public standpipes on which the resident depend, are unable to release the liquid gold, it is everyone for himself and God for all the residents.

They literally run helter-skelter, invading the nearby stream and wells in search of water.  Some even travelling to nearby cattleposts to beg for water from farm owners.
