UDC under fire over expensive events during financial crisis

For months, government officials have repeatedly spoken about economic difficulties facing the country, citing shrinking revenues, unemployment, and pressure on the national budget. However, despite these warnings, recent political activities organised by parties in the ruling coalition have raised eyebrows among ordinary citizens facing daily economic hardships. At the centre of the growing debate are the recent high-profile activities organised by the Botswana National Front (BNF), a key member of the UDC coalition. The BNF dinner, as well as the highly publicised rally in Selebi-Phikwe East, have triggered conversations across the country, with many questioning whether the ruling coalition’s actions truly reflect the financial realities it continues to preach to the public.
