Two Youth Vie To Replace Ramaotwana

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana National Front Youth League (BNFYL) has not yet decided on a date to get a new president after the resignation of Nelson Ramaotwana on May 31.

The BNFYL is likely to meet next week to discuss the matter. The rivalry to replace Ramaotwana is likely to open more fissures in the already divided youth league.

It is said two factions are busy lobbying for their preferred candidates to occupy the post. The BNFYL president sits in the party Central Committee (CC). Under Ramaotwana, the BNFYL recently made a resolution in Kanye calling for party president Otsweletse Moupo to step down. This has divided the youth league along factions.
