Two-year-old dies after eating poison

MAUN: Maun police are investigating a case in which a two year-old girl died after swallowing something suspected to be a poisonous substance on Sunday.

Assistant superintendent (ASP) Borefeletse Phaphane explained that the deceased and other two girls apparently ate a poisonous stuff at Maruleng cattle post near Xharaga village.

He explained that the mother to one of the affected girls noticed a strange white mucus coming from the three children’s mouths and immediately phoned the grandfather who had shortly left home.
