Two suspects arrested for housebreaking

Two men linked to a string of housebreaking incidents that have been keeping the police on their toes in Mahalapye have been arrested.

The district Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officer, superintendent Bannetse Baakile told The Monitor that the duo, aged 24 and 29, of Mahalapye village were arrested in possession of stolen goods.

“They were found in possession of electronics like television sets, decoders and clothes. Both incidents occurred in Mahalapye over the weekend. The duo is likely to be arraigned before Mahalapye Magistrate's Court today,” he said. Baakile further raised concern over the rise in housebreaking and theft incidents in the area.
