Despite the recent development where the Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) warring factions buried the hatchet, troubles lie ahead in the coming year as the party holds its long overdue elective congress.

Before the recent reconciliation, the parties fought for the soul of the party, a conflict that led to the postponement of the elective congress which was initially scheduled for end of October this year.

Now it turns out that the move to postpone the congress may backfire. This is so because different political parties, especially the opposition, have started preparing for primary elections.
