Triple murder accused soldier slapped with six charges

Appearing before court, Mokomeng adorned in a blue mask and a black tracksuit, the triple murder accused soldier’s charge sheet was read out.
The 34-year-old soldier faces six counts of murder, attempted murder, and arson. For the murder charge, he is accused of killing Elizabeth Ramolala, Alefha Ramolala, and Katlego Ramolala in Kgomokasitwa, on February 25, 2025.
On another charge, it is said he attempted to kill a police officer, Sergeant Thabo Dibotelo, by shooting him with a gun.
His other attempted murder charge is for one Happy Ramolala after he allegedly torched the house he was in.
Another charge the soldier is facing is of willfully and unlawfully setting Elizabeth Ramolala’s house on fire.
Inside court, the Investigating Officer, Alakanani David, told the magistrate that the matter was still in its infancy stage.
The IO further told court that the soldier wasn't a candidate for bail because they feared he would target other family members.
The court further heard that the accused has another case of defilement.
Speaking for the first time, the accused responded to the defilement matter, questioning the IO, saying he was never given bail for the defilement charge as stated by the police.
