The Three Chiefs Motorcycle Club, a group of male and female bikers, is set to escort MISA Botswana on May 6 for the World Press Day march.

The club was yesterday announced as the sponsor of MISA Botswana alongside telecommunications company, Mascom. Reitumetse Aphiri, the public relations officer at the club, said the "march in support of journalists will be the biggest thing" they've "ever done".“We'll be joined by bikers from our neighbouring country, South Africa to give Botswana journalists the much-needed support," she said.

Aphiri revealed that as a bikers club, their motto is 'charity'. She added that their club goes to great lengths to lend a helping hand to people that need their support. She elucidated that the convoy alongside the march will not be their first rodeo. The club has over the years been supporting the underprivileged in the community and will be doing so again this year ahead of the autocade for World Press Day.“We will be donating on April 22.

We've chosen Sese as our next stop as a club,” Aphiri said, adding that they will be riding from Gaborone to Sese on their bikes. In addition, she revealed that as soon as they are done with the donation, their next stop will be Jwaneng. The Three Chiefs Motorcycle Club will have a road safety talk with Jwaneng residents where the club will sensitise the public on sharing the road with motorbikers.
