A 17-year-old boy fatally stabbed his 59-year-old father in the presence of his mother on Tuesday morning in an incident that took place at the family home in Mmopane Block 1.
The reason for the teen killing his father is unclear, however, police say the father and son had a heated altercation after the deceased instructed the teenager to go to the lands with him.
The teenage boy allegedly attacked and stabbed him to death with a sharp object in the presence of his mother. Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Boemo Bok said the murder incident occurred at around 10am.
“We received the report of the matter that morning, rushed to the crime scene, and took the 59-year-old father to Nkoyaphiri clinic where he was certified dead on arrival by the doctors. We have since arrested the teenage boy who is currently in police custody for investigations and charged him with murder. Investigations into the matter are ongoing and the suspect will soon appear before Broadhurst Magistrate's Court for arraignment,” Bok said.
