FRANCISTOWN: Deputy divisional traffic officer for South Central, Senior Superintendent Boiki Mojalemotho is concerned about the continued loss of lives on the road due to car crashes.

According to Mojalemotho, at around 10pm on Saturday, they received a report of a fatal accident. He said the accident involving two cars, a Volkswagen Polo (VW) and a Honda Fit, took place in Sasakwe lands along the Kopong-Lentsweletau road. A 30-year-old man was driving the VW while a 24-year-old man was driving the Honda Fit.

Mojalemotho said the two vehicles collided as one of the cars was in the wrong lane. He added that an 18-year-old girl who was the passenger in the Honda Fit died on the spot. He indicated the driver of the Honda Fit is still hospitalised at Sidilega Private Hospital whereas the VW driver was treated and discharged on the same day.
