Suspect in custody after cop murder

One person is in custody following the murder of a police officer who was stabbed to death at a concert in Mahalapye on Christmas Eve.

Yesterday, Mahalapye police station commander, Amos Kekgathetse said they arrested eight suspects who were questioned and released as investigations continue after the fatal stabbing. He said they are still following leads and hoped to make more arrests soon. “We arrested eight suspects and released them. Two were later re-arrested as new information came to light,” he said.

Kekgathetse said after questioning, one suspect was released while another remained in custody. “For now we have one suspect in custody but we expect to arrest more soon,” he said.
