A sober festive season looms for hundreds of Bakgatla who may have planned to indulge in the traditional festive choirs (Dikhwaere) after the local authority enforced a ban on the sale of alcohol at the events.

Kgatleng District Council chairperson, Mpho Morolong said the local authority had been inundated by requests from other traders demanding the right to sell alcohol outside the legislated areas.
