FRANCISTOWN: Police are on the hunt for a 22-year-old man of Serowe who hacked his brother to death with an axe after the deceased tried to intervene when the suspect was tormenting the entire family over food.

Officer Commanding No.2 District, Senior Superintended Paul Oketsang said they are investigating a murder incident that occurred over the weekend in Mokwena ward.

He said the suspect, who is still on the run, attacked his entire family before hacking his brother when he attempted to assist in the family conflict. Oketsang explained that the fugitive arrived from a night out a few minutes before midnight and banged on his 50-year-old mother’s door, demanding food. According to the police chief, the mother then informed the suspect that there was no food.
