Seretses top 'toys' slip through DCEC fingers

The Directorate on Corruption and Economic Crime (DCEC) has reportedly failed to recover several top-of-the-range vehicles from Bakang Seretse, as they no longer exist in his name.

Seretse and other high profile individuals have been charged with money laundering and other charges in relation to the alleged disappearance of P250 million from the National Petroleum Fund (NPF).

The alleged cars, Maserati and a Rolls-Royce Phantom were part of the property that was named in a court order and were to be seized. Alleged to be part of the proceeds of crime from the looted NPF, the vehicles are said to no longer be in Seretse’s possession and the DCEC and court are aware of that. Last week the agent forced Seretse to collect his clothes at his restraint house and later collected the cars after a court order but could not have three later cars.
