SA national arrested with 13 bags of 'dagga' at Martin’s Drift

A South African man who was en route to Zimbabwe was arrested at Martin’s Drift Border Post on Saturday after he was found in possession of 13 bags containing substances suspected to be dagga.

The suspect was nabbed during a stop–question–and–search joint operation conducted by the Botswana Police Service, Department of Immigration and the Botswana Defence Force (BDF).

Martin’s Drift Acting Police Station commander, Assistant Superintendent Uyapo Koketso, said the suspect was driving a vehicle towing a trailer when officers discovered the illicit cargo concealed amongst the luggage.
