Public service day billed for Jwaneng

JWANENG: The diamond rich town of Jwaneng will host this year’s public service commemorations. Multitudes are expected to throng the town from June 13-16 to celebrate and reflect on the services government employees render to the public.

The commemorations will be held under the theme, ‘50 Years of Service to the People’. Activities of the day have been designed to form part of a build up to the country’s 50th anniversary of independence.

Addressing public servants on Tuesday, Jwaneng Deputy District Commissioner Kolobetso Sejakgomo, said before the national one, they would host the celebration at district level on April 21. The objectives of the celebrations, she said, are to create a platform to recognise good performance through awards. She added that the awards would be in two sets.
