Eleven days after a man was knocked down by a vehicle along the A1 Highway between Phakalane and the Glen Valley junction, police are still appealing for his family to come forward and identify him.

Broadhurst police say the deceased, believed to be aged between 30 and 40, was a familiar figure often seen around the Phakalane area and is suspected to have been mentally challenged.

The man, who is estimated to be about 1.4 metres tall, was wearing a grey tracksuit, a navy blue jacket, and a red and white long-sleeved T-shirt labelled Chicago at the time of his death. He was also found with several chains around his neck.
