Police ready to send double murder docket to DPP

The prosecution in a case in which Daniel Phadisa faces a double murder charge has told Broadhurst Magistrate’s court that the matter will soon be sent to the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP) for possible prosecution.

Yesterday, prosecutor, Inspector Oamogetswe Gaboutlwelwe of Botswana Police Service told magistrate Gaseitsewe Tonoki that they are still awaiting results from the forensic laboratory before handing over the docket to DPP for assessment of evidence.

“I have received information from the investigating officer that they are still awaiting the results from the forensic laboratory on the exhibits we sent there. As soon as we get them, we will record the statements and send the docket to DPP for assessment,” she said.
