Police probe fatal lay-by incident

Police are investigating a case in which a 28-year-old man of Tsolamosese in Mogoditshane was hit by a speeding car along Kudumatse Road while attempting to cross the road on Saturday night.
Investigating the case, deputy divisional traffic officer for South Central, Senior Superintendent Boiki Mojalemotho said the deceased meet his fate after he failed to stop as he ran when the police on patrol called him.
“The deceased was drinking alcohol in public. Police who were on patrol stopped their car to talk to him but he fled trying to cross the road only to be hit by a Toyota Corolla near the Tlogatloga Junior Secondary School lay-by.
Police rushed him to Julia Molefhe Clinic where he was certified dead upon arrival,” Mojalemotho said.
