As Botswana celebrates Independence this week, President Ian Khama is scheduled to perform his annual celebration routines of honouring outstanding individuals and companies.

One of those scheduled to receive the prestigious Presidential Meritorious Award medal is woman enterpreneur Pinkie  Setlalekgosi, the founder and co-owner of Spirit Couriers (Pty)Ltd, a highly successful courier company. Established in November 2006, Sprint Couriers has over 14 branches across the country today with a staff compliment of over 150.  As she grew the business exponentially, Setlalekgosi who hails from Mookane village in the  Mahalapye East Constituency has been the pillar of strength for the village where she has been consistently donating  blankets, builting a house for a needy family, purchasing chairs for village kgotla and the post office for the elderly.

Setlalekgosi has funded renovations of a community church (Roman Catholic), sponsored the village children’s Christmas party, donated netball and football kit, foot/netballs and prize money for the village club in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Setlalekgosi has adopted Mookane Primary school under the adopt a school initiative and has among other things provided ICT equipment, stationery and food for the school. She has also electrified and painted some of the classrooms. She continues to support the school financially and assists the needy in the village.
