The first incident occurred on Friday late afternoon near Puma Filling Station along the Gabane highway when a 13-year-old boy was hit by a car whilst attempting to cross the road. As a result, the teenage boy sustained a fractured right chin and is currently hospitalised at Bokamoso Private Hospital. Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Mbiganyi Letsholathebe, said the victim was hit by a 78-year-old man who was driving a Range Rover. The driver has since been charged with driving without due care and attention. In another accident that occurred on early Saturday morning, a motorist found a pedestrian lying motionless in the middle of the road along the A10 road and reported the matter to the police. Letsholathebe told The Monitor they don't know the victim's name and age because he didn't have any form of identity in his possession. Additionally, he said they are yet to establish the pedestrian's age and name because he had sustained serious head injuries and can't speak. "He has also sustained a fractured left leg and is currently hospitalised at Bokamoso Private Hospital," he said.
Meanwhile, Letsholathebe added they were also investigating another hit and run incident in which a 24-year-old man was hit by a car on Saturday night at around 11pm near Legae Academy. He said the victim, who is also hospitalised at Bokamoso Private Hospital, sustained a fractured left leg and had bruises on his face and both arms. "He was also attempting to cross the road when he was hit by a car that didn't stop following the accident. We have since launched investigations into these accidents to locate the drivers who are still at large," he said.
