Confronted by irate residents of Nkoyaphiri this morning, Kweneng Land Board senior management had to call members of Botswana Police Service to quell the volatile situation as enraged residents bayed for the blood of the Land Board JCB driver and Board management.

The Land Board mission was to run down fences of those who had illegally allocated themselves plots at Nkoyaphiri. This Land Board action was meant to be a precursor to destructing structures built on illegally occupied land.

Around 60 incensed and highly charged residents initially started pelting the JCB and its driver with all sorts of missiles ranging from stones, bricks and even whipped the JCB driver with sjamboks forcing him to stop what he was assigned to do.
