Ousted PDC chair Ketshogile fights removal in court

A nominated Councillor of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) and former Chairperson of the Palapye District Council (PDC), Kabo Ketshogile, has taken both the council and the Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs to court over his removal from the chairpersonship.

Ketshogile has filed an urgent application before the Mahalapye High Court seeking an order recognising him as the lawful Chairperson of the Palapye District Council.

According to court papers filed on Wednesday, Ketshogile argues that his removal from office was unlawful and contrary to the provisions of the law governing local authorities.
